Will I scar after a tummy tuck?

Any tummy tuck surgery will result in scarring. However, the severity of these scars will depend on the following factors:

the type of procedure
the amount of
skin to be removed
skin elasticity
the skill of your surgeon
your aftercare

Although full abdominoplasty involves a hipbone-to-hipbone incision, for example, a good surgeon will do his/her best to place the incision close to the pubic region, easily covered by undergarments. Very invasive surgeries may require vertical incisions which are harder to hide. Ask your surgeon to show you photographs of abdominoplasty scarring so you can have an idea of what to expect after your procedure.
