April 20, 2007, Newsletter Issue #61: Gynecomastia Vacation

Tip of the Week

"Can't help you with the dishes, honey, I just had surgery." While most guys are experts at getting out of household chores, you can't use gynecomastia treatment as an excuse. Pain goes away after about 24 hours once the anesthesia wears off. Doing dishes doesn't involve heavy lifting, which isn't recommended after gynecomastia surgery. Plus, after your wife scrimped and saved to pay for the cost of gynecomastia surgery, you could at least do the dishes and dust. She can take out the trash--just don't let her catch you golfing, since you're supposed to return to office work a week after the procedure, physical labor two weeks after.

Avoid the sun for two to three months, which means no leaf raking at noon in summer, and wear your compression vest that helps tissues heal and reduces swelling. But once you've recovered, take out the trash, rake the leaves and clean the gutters with a smile.
