October 27, 2006, Newsletter Issue #38: Abdominoplasty Liposuction Hints

Tip of the Week

You've never been one to do things in half-measures. You want ice cream, you get a big cone--but that's not why you need abdominoplasty. You've had a hernia while you were pregnant (ouch.) You need to lose several fat deposits from your hips and abs for your health and appearance. Liposuction abdominoplasty can help, as opposed to a traditional tummy tuck. It can restore the original contours of your body. Some hints for successful liposuction abdominoplasty: Don't diet to extremes! This is not the time to restrict your proteins, fruits and vegetables, which help you heal. Abdominoplasty in conjunction with liposuction is intensive, and you may have to remain in the hospital. Some doctors prefer to have their patients stay overnight or several days after a tummy tuck. If you smoke, stop at least two weeks before your surgery. If you resume, wait two weeks to a month. But be warned that some doctors may not take you on as a candidate if you smoke. Liposuction abdominoplasty and liposuction will be more effective if you wait until you're finished having children. While you shouldn't try to run a marathon, light exercise after you're released from the hospital will help you heal. Doctors recommend that you walk as soon as possible after a tummy tuck. Follow all the precautions associated with liposuction, such as increasing the adrenaline if you have tumescent liposuction or getting compression devices for your legs that prevent blood clots during surgery.

Take care of yourself--in addition to giving birth, you've just had a massive surgery. Make sure that your hubby and kids can pick up the slack (it's your turn to rest!) Enjoy your improved appearance and well-being.
