August 4, 2006, Newsletter Issue #26: Types of Liposuction Abdominoplasty

Tip of the Week

You now know what ultrasonic liposuction is versus tumescent liposuction. But which do you choose for liposuction abdominoplasty? And isn't all this surgery too much? Not necessarily, if it's done together...and right the first time, so you don't have to go back for repeated surgeries. Whether you need to flatten, not fatten, several areas at once, especially the stomach, or sculpt your lower abs with a mini tummy tuck, liposuction abdominoplasty works.

Many plastic surgerons do tumescent liposuction abdominoplasty, ultrasonic liposuction abdominoplasty, or both! Say you needed to remove small fat deposits in your stomach but massive ones in your thighs, or vice versa. You would use tumescent liposuction abdominoplasty for small deposits, ultrasonic liposuction for large mother lodes.

Remember the risks associated with ultrasonic liposuction and make sure your surgeon drains any fluid that collects in your abs and thighs. You dislike retaining water, after all! You also don't like feeling vain, especially since liposuction can tack on extra bucks to the tummy tuck price tag, but hey, you're looking out for your own improved fitness and well-being. When the procedure's done right, the abdominoplasty cost will be well worth all the dilemmas you solved.
